Dear Rev. Sir Dr. Stephen T. Mos Def Colbert, D.F.A., Heavyweight Champion of the World,
I have a confession to make. You are the source for most of the news stories I follow. You are my gatekeeper. My guide to the 24 hour news cycle. My oracle to the relevant and irrelevant.
I have some unfortunate news. I have decided to live my life without paying for cable TV, so I will now keep up with the show on Hulu+. Only suckers pay for cable these days anyway. I would hope this puts money more directly into your pocket but I highly highly doubt it does. Just a heads up, cable television is the next big media industry to be devoured by the digital revolution. The writing has been on the wall for some time now and if Steve Jobs were still around, I believe we’d be even further down this road. As a fellow Millennial you understand that we only want the shows we care about and we want them now, not at 10:30 Monday-Thursday. Speaking of Millennials, how’s that going for you? I know we’re pretty cool, just be aware of the baggage it comes with:
And speaking of television and revolution, I think Gil-Scott Heron said it best.
Now if you could just give my blog the Colbert Bump I’d really be rolling. Thanks in advance.
PS: Attending a recording of your show in NYC is on my bucket list.
