Dear DeMarcus Ware,
I’m sure today was an emotional day for you. Getting cut can’t feel good, even if it’s just about the money. The term“getting cut” implies you’re not worthy of the position but we all know that’s not the case. I hate to see you go, but I understand how these things shake out. The Cowboys organization (Jerry Jones) didn’t feel your play would be worth the price tag and that your contract would handcuff the team during free agency. Who’s fault is that? Well it’s certainly not yours.
Maybe if Jerry hadn’t kicked the can down the road with your contract, we would be talking about a you retiring as a Cowboy. Instead, it looks like you will be signing a 3 year deal for $30+ million deal with the Broncos. I’m happy you’re getting the money you deserve and have a real chance to win a Super Bowl. Not a bad deal, but again, I’m sad to see you go.
I hope you can look back fondly on the good-ish years with the Cowboys. Stay warm in Denver.
